Lou Gehrig Rules

 

Lou Gehrig uses a combination of house rules and Major League Rules
Summary of basic Lou Gehrig Rules
Playing Time
Pony Division Free Substitution in field Either 9 or 10 batters in the order - standard substitution/re-entry
Pitchers allowed 7 innings per week 48 hours rest required if pitcher goes 4 ip in a game
Colt Division Free Substitution in field Either 9 or 10 batters in the order - standard substitution/re-entry
Pitchers allowd 7 innings per week 48 hours rest required if pitcher goes 4 ip in a game
Palomino Division Free Substitution in field All players at game are in batting order
Pitchers rules are flexible
Game Lengths
All 3 Divisions 7 inning games with a 10 run rule after 4 1/2 or 5 innings
No new inning after 2:20 minutes, regardless of inning.
Playoffs
Pony and Colt Top 4 teams make playoffs
2 rounds of best of three series. 1 plays 4, 2 plays 3. Winners play for Championship.
Pitchers can pitch 7 innings every 2 consecutive games. Innings reset each round.
Game Play
All 3 Divisions Balk Warnings (Before Mothers Day Only)
Each pitcher in each game is allowed one balk warning. This allows teams to try new pitchers.
All 3 Divisions No curtesy runners
We want players to play the entire game, running the bases is part of the game.
